Shaping Students to Become Leaders

We must realize that character education will not just happen. It will only occur when direct instruction is planned as a part of each day. Its objective is to teach students what it means to be a responsible citizen in the community.

As participants of our program, students will have the opportunity to channel their creativity and passion in meaningful community service, engage in the world around them, and address problems of local, national, and global importance.

Our program is designed around service learning. Students will enjoy a year filled with gardening, field trips, games, cultivating new friendships, and much more while giving back to their community. Each month, students will create and implement a service project, reflect, and celebrate their hard work and accomplishments. They are also given the chance to experience activities in each component area we offer as they rotate each week.

We will focus on providing positive opportunities for participants by engaging them in activities and projects which enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, and build morally sound character, as well as provide experiences for practicing conflict resolution through social interaction with others.

The Adolescent Character Garden distinguishes itself as it boldly confronts the challenges of today’s youth; hence, they are tomorrow’s leaders.
